Some can write — but not everyone can tell a story like Steph Marks can.
Flanked by a background in fashion styling and a degree in costume design, Steph cut her teeth in creative when she relocated from Melbourne to London at 22 years old. Working on film, TV, theatre, fashion runways, and any other set she could access, Steph went on to study Art Direction at the esteemed Central St Martins College before returning to Australia several years later.
Steph’s career recalibrated when she made a beeline for her first true love of writing, completing her undergrad degree in Journalism. After a brief stint in the rigid world of mainstream media and a two-year tenure as a travel editor in Indonesia, Steph shifted into content strategy and copywriting and really found her groove.
Having clocked over a decade working with words in client-side roles, under agency appointments, and as a freelancer, Steph has been published by well-known local and international mastheads like Lonely Planet, i-D, and Vice. She has also worked extensively with global brands across the fashion, tech, entertainment, manufacturing, events, medical, real estate, and retail industries including Lendlease and Bioderma.
Vivacious in nature, Steph has an innate knack for building rapport with collaborators to spark collective creativity. Her talent for storytelling can be attributed to living life in full colour and trying anything twice — and that is what makes Steph a true force to be reckoned with.
